Guimaraes, M. (n.d.). Radiologia Brasiliera. Retrieved from Scielo online website:
http://www.scielo.br/scielo.php?pid=s.
Accessed on November 1, 2013.
The Scielo website gives you information about various types of scanning devices and different body parts that these devices have scanned and the different problems shown in these scans. From this website I took the MRI scan of a hand and analysed what was shown in the scan.
Gould, T. (2013). How MRI Works. Retrieved from Howstuffworks online website: http://science.howstuffworks.com/mri.htm. Accessed on October 27, 2013.
The howstuffworks web is a website that’s concerned with multiple issues starting from science to military to transportation. Itès primary purpose is to explain and show how various technical objects work and what their uses in the real world are. From this website we were able to learn the history of the MRI scanner, its various components, and how the device produces scans of the human body.
Harold, C. (2012). Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Scans. Retrieved from: http://mriscans.weebly.com/ethical-issues.html. Accessed on October 26th, 2013
This website covers everything about MRI although only the Ethical Issues portion was made use off. Through this, I was able to learn how MRI is not the best thing for a claustrophobic person or pregnant women.
Hornak, J. (2011) The Basics of MRI. Retrieved from Imagining Hardware online website: http://www.cis.rit.edu/htbooks/mri/chap-9/chap-9.htm#9.2. Accessed on October 27, 2013.
The Imagining Hardware website gives you overview of the hardware components of different devices and how each one function in order to help the device work. It outlines each component individually along with internal pictures. This website helped us gain information about the different components of the MRI machine and learn in depth about them.
Howard, F. (1998). Accomplishments. Retrieved from : http://www.uthscsa.edu/mission/spring95/accomp.html. Accessed on October 26th, 2013
Through this website, we were able to find out about the successes that have happened through the use of a MRI Scanner. We learned that a MRI scanner is also able to detect the origin of a significant disorder.
OpenAirMRI. (2009). MRI. Retrieved from Open Air of Allentown online website: http://openmriofphillipsburg.com/allentown/s_mri.shtml. Accessed on October 27, 2013.
The Open Air of Allentown website allows you to learn about a different type of MRI scanning method and gives a brief overview of what a MRI machine is. From this website I took information about how the powerful computer system of the MRI machine and the sensitive antenna works in order to produce MRI scans.
Sisk, J. (2008). Magnetic Resonance Imaging. Retrieved from: http://www.healthofchildren.com/M/Magnetic-Resonance-Imaging.html. Accessed on October 24th, 2013
From this website, we were able to gather and learn about the purpose and how MRI is used globally. It taught us how MRI is used to visualize the human body in a form that helps doctors. It also taught us that it can be used is diagnosing and detecting different kind of diseases and disorders.
